#RescueJangebeGirls Trends on Social Media after Gunmen Abduct Schoolgirls in Zamfara
Nigerians have taken to the micro blogging app, Twitter, to demand the rescue of over 300 schoolgirls abducted by gunmen in the early hours of today at Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Multiple sources say the suspected armed bandits invaded the school around 1am local time and incapacitated the gate man before gaining accessing the students.
Recall that just last week, 27 students were kidnapped from Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State leading to social media users to trend the hashtag #FreeKagaraBoys
Below are some of the tweets:
The abduction of 300 schoolgirls from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State is deeply saddening. Abduction suddenly seems like another form of ‘entrepreneurship’ in Nigeria. This must stop! https://t.co/YziU3HQBbi

Just last week it was #freekagaraboys, today we have a new hashtag #RescueJangebeGirls, who knows tomorrow what hashtag we will come up with? Perhaps one for ourselves when we get caught up in one of these daring attacks. This is sad & heartbreaking, I feel helpless & hopeless 😪

But how do these people kidnap over 300 students at the same time, and comfortable drive to their hideout with no security officials – police/army in Zamfara noticing them.

This new kidnapping trend in northern Nigeria feels like business, and it's scary. #RescueJangebeGirls
This is serious. What's really happening in the North?
