TRADITIONAL VS WHITE WEDDING – THE SAME EVENTS
A key mistake Nigerian Christians make is to believe that church or white wedding is superior to the Nigerian traditional marriage.
The white or church wedding is the traditional wedding of the western world. They don’t do two weddings.
Each time you do both traditional & white weddings, you are doing two traditional weddings.
The Scot man wears a kilt (skate & shirt or suit) to do his marriage while the English wears a suit (coat & trouser). These are their traditional wears.
Our traditional wedding done with the consent and blessings of our parents is superior to any other wedding. You must not wear a suit to do a wedding. Our traditional Igbo, Yoruba, Ibibio, Efik, Urhobo, Benin, etc wears are good enough for a wedding.
Do not allow anyone to tell you that you cannot live with your wife until a pastor blesses your marriage. Once both parents bless the marriage, you are free to explore to the fullest…
You can also register with the marriage registry after a traditional marriage and it is recognised.
Stop putting pressure on yourself to do two traditional marriages.
For me, our traditional marriage is the king!
